<p>The funeral of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari has been officially postponed to Tuesday, July 15, 2025. <p>Speaking to journalists in Daura, Buhari’s hometown, Governor Radda said the funeral prayer (janaza) for the late elder statesman will now take place by 2:00 pm on Tuesday, in Daura, Katsina State.</p>
<p>“The janaza prayer of our father, leader, and former President, Muhammadu Buhari, has been shifted to tomorrow, Tuesday, July 15, at exactly 2:00 pm here in Daura,” Radda stated.</p>

<p>Late President Muhammadu Buhari passed away over the weekend after a brief illness, sparking an outpouring of tributes from across Nigeria and the international community.</p>
<p>The Katsina State Government and the Buhari family have since opened a condolence register in Daura, Abuja, and at Nigeria’s foreign missions.</p>
<p>Security has been tightened in and around Daura in preparation for the burial ceremony, which is expected to draw a large crowd of mourners, including top government officials, diplomats, and members of the public.</p>
