The promulgation of Atiku Abubakar to privatize Governmental institutions including NNPC, public universities among others if elected Nigerian president had attracted spates of public consternation that made him and his party PDP suffer a deathblow and lose the 2019 electoral exercise to the grace of their APC opponents.
Taking a grim view of years of financial vendetta between ASUU and Federal government, he, Atiku asserted that the only way to settle the old scores between the duo (ASUU and FG) and mitigate the menace of constant industrial action by the academic staff of the universities is through a strategic privatization of the public institutions.
By implication, we up to now hold the conviction of the idea of university privatization will only throw our educational system into the depth of abyss. Adding no beneficial value but perdition and difficulty to the less privileged to acquire knowledge.
To our utter dismay and grievances, who has ever thought that we will be left lonely and blue while seeking asylum in the preeminent and promising dominion of APC? Whoever thought that Buhari and APC will ascend the Nigeria’s highest throne of responsibility with simple solutions to its compounded problem or with no inkling of good governance other than to practically piraticalise the condemnable modus operandi of ATIKU/PDP governance?
Atiku was dehumanized and demonized simply because of his proclamation of privatizing NNPC and public universities. But in our lifetime, we can give the testimonies of Buhari’s intrepid stance to privatize public universities and NNPC as the only way out the woods. With these, In our reasoning, we can say may be the prime objective of APC is not to promote good governance by alleviating the painful state of the good citizens of Nigeria. But solely, to dislodge PDP from power thereby further exacerbating the sabotage caused by their (PDP) 16 years of stewardship. This seen clearly by how the government is deliberately rubbing salt to the nasty gaping wound of poor Nigerians.
Each country, each government has a set of objectives that it wants to fulfill, but unfortunately confronted with untold thousands of problems that give the albatross to the peaceful functioning and growth of the country. To pull through as a nation in the hellish of crisis, we must not fail to admit the existence of problems, or realise their existence and fold our arms without setting up validated solutions with sincere implementations.
The Roadblocks That Influence The Fate Of Nigerian Child
In this respect, the nexus of exceedingly harmful scenarios that clearly portray our everyday Nigeria with relative or no possible effort to squelch these simmering problems only affirm the failure of APC’s administration to fend for its responsibilities. Education, Security, economic growth and well-being…to cut the long story short everything under the stewardship of the incumbent is continuously deteriorating. The government of a people is responsible for its situation and we Nigerians hold the government accountable.
