The Nigeria Police Force have arrested a fake soldier in Kano.

The spokesperson Kano state police command DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa stated this in a statement.

Suspect confessed to have specialized in extorting Tricycle Operators by presenting himself as a Military personnel

On the 30/11/2021 at about 0900hrs, one Abubakar Zailani Ibrahim, ‘m’, 27 years old of Adamawa State, presented himself as a Military personnel, arrested a Tricyclist and took him to Rijiyar Zaki Police Station Kano, claiming that, some weeks ago, the said Tricyclist made away with his Military Uniform and other valuables amounting to the sum of One Hundred and Ninety Five Thousand Naira (N195,000).

2. On receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi instructed the Divisional Police Officer, Rijiyar Zaki Division, CSP Usman Abdullahi to investigate. Preliminary investigation revealed that, the complainant is not a Military personnel and the claim was found to be untrue.

3. On discreet investigation, the suspect confessed to have specialized in using the same tactics to extort Tricycle Operators within Kano Metropolis by presenting himself as a Military personnel, and that he stole the suspected Camouflage Uniform from the room of his friend in Dutse, Jigawa State. He further confessed to have hailed from Adamawa and came to Kano purposely for this criminal acts. However, investigation has commenced.

4. The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi, further warns that, criminals will have no hiding place in Kano State. They are advice to either repent or leave the State completely. Otherwise, they will be arrested and face the full wrath of the Law. He thanked the good people of Kano State for their prayers, encouragement, continuous support and cooperation. He urged residents to pray for the State, the Nation and report incidences to the nearest Police Station and not to take laws into their hands. Rigorous patrol and raids of criminal hideouts and black spots will continue throughout the State, as the Command will sustain the ongoing “Operation Puff Adder”.
