The All Progressive Congress Northern Youth Agenda has called for caution as the race for the 2023 presidential election is gaining momentum.
In a statement by Convener and Co convener Aminu Aminu and Hisham Habib who signed on behalf of other northern groups it called for the respect of the constitution of the federal republic as well as that of the party,which allows all qualified Nigerians to vie for elective positions.
The APC northern Youths also called for the collective and non intimidating approach to zoning of all positions in the party APC and in every available position while emphasizing that zoning remains a gentleman’s ‘agreement which must be advocated with decorum.
“We envisage candidates from any part of the six geopolitical zones and more importantly the 36 STATES of the FEDERATION to come out and contest and be given their right as enshrined in the constittution with no prejudice attached.”
Our Agenda is that the progressive work by the Muhammadu Buhari administration should be xontinued and the emancipation of the new generation should be a priority in whatsover arrangement that will preceed the 2023 general elections.
The Agenda will also earnestly embark on moves to unite the youth within the party on progressive issues that will bring the success of the party,and expand the roles played by all groups for the overall development of the country.
