Kano state government has announced Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya as the New Emir of Gaya Emirate.
His announcement was made by the Secretary to the Kano Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji at the Government House.
He said: “The Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, by the power conferred on him, by the Kano Emirate Law 2020 as Amended approved the appointment of Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya as the New Emir of Gaya Emirate.
“The appointment followed the recommendation of the Gaya Emirate kingmakers after the presentation of three candidates from which his Excellency the Governor approved the appointment of Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya as the Emir.”
“The New Emir until his appointment was the Chiroman Gaya, who now succeeds his Late Father, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir who died on Wednesday 22 September 2021.
“Gaya Emirate is one of the four new Emirates created by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje in 2019.
“Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, therefore, congratulates the New Emir”. He said
