FBB Moves to Boost Staple Food Production

The establishment of FBB rice mill is strategically targeted at boosting local rice production and creation of employment for teeming youths and boost nutrition, Chief Executive Officer, FBB Rice,  Hajiya  Binta Fatima Bello has disclosed.

According to her,  the closure of the borders by the Nigerian government has instigated the company to facilitate the process of emulating the best quality standard in food production to enable Nigerians access to quality staple food.

Hajiya Binta,  in a chat with journalists during the commissioning of FBB rice mill in Kano, she said the current federal government policies have enthroned level playing grounds for local food manufacturers to compete favorably.

She notes that the food policies currently been implemented by the federal government would make available nutritious staple food to Nigerians. Binta urged women to rise to the challenge of complementing within the family economy system.

“our women must also now come out and compete for a place in our economy. Mr. President  has created a level playing ground, gone are the days when we sit back at home and rely on the men to fend for us and to cater for all our domestic needs.” Binta stated.

Commissioning the new rice project, former governor of Gombe state, senator Danjuma Goje commended the initiators of  FBB rice for the intuitive, while pledging support for the nurturing of the venture, which he described as a job-creating avenue for teeming youths.

Amongst dignitaries that witnessed the grand event are, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who was represented by his ward Mohammed Abubakar and chairman Kano Electricity Distribution Company KEDCO, Jamil Gwamna among others.
