How I was beaten to A Pulp By Gaya Local Government Chairman:APC aspirant recounts Ordeal On Hospital Bed

A chairmanship aspirant of Gaya Local Government Hafizu Sunusi Mahmud Gaya has narrated his Ordeal in the hands of Gaya Local Government Chairman during screening of Aspirants at the local government secretariat in Kano.

Kano State Independent Electoral Commission has slated 16th January 2021 for the local government elections throughout the State.

Hafizu Sunusi is seeking to contest the chairmanship of Gaya Local Government on the platform of APC with the incumbent chairman of the local government who is also jostling for another tenure in the same APC which his main rival Hafizu wants to clinched.

Hafizu Sunusi said they were called for screening and suddenly saw youth brandishing weapons at the scene of the screening exercise.

He said as a candidate he went for the screening but also see the incumbent Chairman .. Ahmad Abdullahi…… With the speaker of Gaya legislative council ,noting that the current chairman firs descended on another chairmanship aspirant Kamalu Ibrahim Gaya, brother to Senator Kabiru Gaya representing Kano south and started beating him at the scene.

According to Hafizu his speaker Gamarya joined his boss and started beating Kamalu Gaya and chased him away.

“Later the chairman and his driver and the speaker turn to me and colluded my head on the wall of his office” Said Hafizu

He said by the time he colluded my head on the wall I became seriously unconscious until I found myself in the hospital.

Hafizu Mahmud said for two days in the Hospital and bedridden ,he does not recognise people neither understand what is going on.

But when Nigerian Tracker met Hafizu Mahmud Aminu on his bed ,said the first day he was brought to the Hospital he only talk to people through gestures or by writing.

But Alhamdulillahi Iam now recuperating ,scanning was conducted and the doctor treated me very well and gradually Iam regaining my consciousness.

On whether his main rival has paid him a sympathy visit ,the aspirant said his opponent who inflicted injury on him did not come to the Hospital and never sympathize with him or even sent a representative.

According to Hafizu , they have already filed necessary legal action to challenge the brutality meted on him and his colleagues by the incumbent Gaya Local Government Chairman.

Hafizu Sunusi Mahmud added that 12 of the chairman ship Aspirants have since decided to rally behind any one of them who emerge through consensus ،but unfortunately the incumbent Chairman behave in an uncivilised manner which brought Hafizu to his present predicament.

Effort to have the reaction of the accused ,Gaya Local Government Chairman proved abortive.
