The Director general of the small scale and medium enterprise Dr. Dikko Umar Radda has reiterated the federal government’s commitment in boosting the economy through small scale businesses.
Dr. Dikko made the disclosure during the lunching of covid 19 survival fund under the Nigeria economic sustainability plan to assist artisans and small scale business owners in Kano

Dikko who was t by the north west zonal coordinator of SMEDAN Ahmed Madaki Muhammad explained that fifty thousand beneficiaries were selected from registered associations ranging from tailors, mechanic’s,vulcanizers, welders among others.
He pointed out that the small scale and medium enterprise was created to ensure the development of the micro small scale businesses
Earlier in his remarks a staff of the Bank of Industries Emeka Nwosu said the beneficiaries were given 30,000 naira each to cushion the effects of covid 19
He appealed to all Nigerians to apply for the survival fund as it will go a long way in alleviating the suffering of small scale businesses
Also speaking at the occasion the special assistant to kano state governor on automobile Alhaji Idris Hassan commended the federal government for initiating the Nigeria sustainability economic plan to boost the economy
He urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the palliative
One of the beneficiaries Aisha Bello who spoke to Radio Nigeria expressed her appreciation to the federal government and promised to use the money in procuring or repairing her sewing machine
About 60 artisan groups including Association of automobile technicians, Association of vulcanizers, Welder association among others.
