Women under the aegis of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists,NAWOJ Kano state chapter has tasked Kano state government to ensure the provision of adequate security during the forth coming local government elections in the state.
The body in a statement issued at the end of its congress held on 31st October, at NUJ Kano Press centre further urge the state government to adhere to its pledge to provide a conducive environment that would enthrone free and fair LG elections.
The august body appealed to Kano electorates to shun vices that would compromise the planned 16th January 2020 LG polls.

According to the association, the rise in the increase of cases of extortion and mobile phone theft demands for supplicated crime control measures by all stakeholders to stem the losses been incurred by residents.
“NAWOJ Kano state is commending and supporting the state government on the directives given to private schools on reduction of third term school fees.
“NAWOJ is calling on the state government to support Investigative Police Officers (IPO) financially to investigate cases of child abuse .”
The association applaud the state commissioner for information, Muhammad Garba over what they described as his motivation and support towards the activities of women media practice in the state.
“NAWOJ call on parents to be cautious of fire hazards.” Appealing to parents to barred their wards from embarking on errands during odds ours.
