FG’s Recruitment: Emir of Bakura calls for Transparency

The Extended Public Programme of the Federal Government has been described as President Muhammadu Buhari’s main star Programme for Poor and Vulnerable People in the Country.

 

This was disclosed by the Chairman, Zamfara State Selection Committee of the Project Engr. Ahmed Garba Yandi during the inauguration of the Committee in Gusau.

He said the objective of the programme was to recruit One Thousand (1,000) unskilled workers in each of the 14 Local Governments areas of the State as obtained in other local governments areas of the country with a view to reducing unemployment to the bearest minimum.

 

According to him, the inauguration of the Selection Committee follows the approval of the President to the minister of Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo to Kick start the programme nationwide.

 

Ahmed Yandi explained that the 1,000 persons to be recruited per local government areas should be engaged by the Federal Government between October and December this year to carry out public works that are peculiar to Locals.  Saying, when recruited, each person will be paid monthly allowances of N20,000 for a period of 3 months.

He Noted that the recruited workers will be engaged in Road rehabilitation, Social housing construction, urban and rural Sanitation, Health extension and other critical services.

 

Noting that, the Zamfara State Committee has only 3 weeks within which to complete the Selection process and return names of the selected people to the Federal Ministry of  Labour and Employment for necessary actions.

The Chairman gave assurance of the committee’s determination to ensure strict adherence to guidelines of the Selection to achieve the set objectives of initiating the programme by President Muhammad Buhari by reaching out to 774,000 poor and needy  Nigerians without sufficient income.

 

In a remark, the Emir of Bakura and Member of the Committee, Engr. Bello Sani urged members of the Committee to select deserving people and justify the trust reposed in them by working diligently.

 

The 20 Man Committee Consists of Politicians, Traditional Leaders, Religious leaders and Civil Society Organisations.
