Ganduje Demotes Commissioner of Justice to Commerce

Governor of Kano State Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje reshuffles Cabinet with the redeployment of three Commissioners to other ministries and assigning of the portfolio to the newly inaugurated commissioners who took the Oath of Office at the Council meeting today, Wednesday.

 

The governor hinted immediately after the inauguration of the newly appointed Commissioners that he would reshuffle his Cabinet, with the coming of the new person into the state Executive Council, Idris Garba Unguwar Rimi.

The reshuffled Cabinet is with immediate effect. Those in the new set up include the following:

 

  1. Mahmud Muhammad Dansantsi, moved from Ministry of Commerce to Ministry of Housing and Transport,

 

  1. Barrister M.A. Lawan, moved from Ministry of Housing and Transport to Ministry of Justice,

 

  1. Barrister Ibrahim Mukhtar, moved from Ministry of Justice to Ministry of Commerce, and

 

  1. Idris Garba Unguwar Rimi, the newly appointed Commissioner is posted to the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure

 

While calling them to be up and doing, as their past records show, he urges them to remain committed to the overall development of the state.

In a statement signed by Governor Ganduje’s Chief Press Secretary Abba Anwar said the governor directed all other Commissioners to continue observing COVID-19 protocols as enunciated by health professionals. Emphasizing that, “They should make sure that the protocols of handwashing with soap and running water, use of sanitizer, use of face masks and social distancing are obeyed in their offices and homes.”
