Northern Speakers Forum has commended the Chairman of the Conference of Northeast Speakers and Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Abubakar Y Suleiman and members of the Conference for their remarkable achievements in one year.
The Acting Chairman of the Forum and Speaker of Kebbi State House of Assembly Hon. Isma’il Abdulmumini Kamba made the commendation while responding to a briefing on the domestication of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Act by Speaker Abubakar Y Suleiman during the Conference of Northern Speakers held in Kaduna.

The Acting Chairman enumerated achievements such as the zonal meeting of the Speakers in conjunction with UNHCR in Yola, visit the Hon. Minister of Finance for the extension of CSDP and other visitations, the passage of VAPP Law in Bauchi State, virtual meetings of the forum, the process of getting unified standing orders for the zone among others which he described as giant strides achieved in just a year.

In a statement by the speakers spokesperson, Abdul Ahmad Burra said the acting chairman attributed the achievements recorded within the period under review to the unity and synergism of the Northeast Speakers for the development of their subregion which he described as exemplary.
