Islam has enjoined Muslims to avoid dereliction of duty during working hours .

The Chief Imam of Bompai Jumuat Mosque in Kano, Sheikh Yushau Yusuf Abdurrauf stated this while delivering today’s Friday Khutba at the Mosque.

The Chief Imam said that it is important to note, that Islam does not condone deriliction  of duty when someone is working in a ministry or the private sector.

“It is also another form of cheating for employees to refuse paying their employers after offering their services ” said the Chief Imam.

He also pointed out  that good neighborliness is fading among Muslim communities as Islam has made it mandatory for it’s adherents to ensure good neighborliness .

On Corona pandemic ravaging the world, Sheikh Abdurrauf noted that Muslims should regard it as a test from the Almighty Allah, and further admonish  them to continue adhering to basic hygiene and wearing of face masks  and follow all protocols as advised by NCDC and WHO.

“Islam has since laid down strict observance of hygiene ,every blessed day Muslims do ablution before praying and they wash their hands for unquantifiable number of times as such what every Muslim is expected to is to improve on the present condition of observing hygiene “

He also called on the Federal Government to solve the problem of banditry that is ravaging the Northern states of Katsina, Zamfara Sokoto and the North East’
