COVID 19 Broadcast: Nigerians expect President Buhari to announce Palliative measures

When president Muhammadu Buhari addressed Nigerian’s on Sunday evening  , anxious citizens waited for the announcement of palliative measures in case of total lock down.

Nigerian Tracker talked to some Nigerian’s on the street and they expressed dismay that the president refused mention policies that will take food to the common man when there is total lock down across the country.

A trader from Jigawa state Malam Yusuf Alaramma told Nigerian Tracker that their expectation was for the president to announce measures that will cushion the effect of movement restrictions among Nigerians.

“I taught President Muhammad Buhari will announce donation to vulnerable Nigerians like he donated 10 billion Naira to Lagos state government over the break out of Corona Virus in the state which is spreading by the day’’ said Aramma.

Bu for Farouk he said, as I listened to the President attentively, I was waiting in the wings to hear that every Nigerian will either be fed or given appreciable cash when governments announced lock down like how other states are doing.

From Sunday the corona virus that ravaged the world has made Nigeria to record 111 cases and other countries have been supporting their citizens with foodstuffs and cash donations.

Even Niger republic that is neighboring Nigeria has declared electricity and water bills free for the citizens due to corona pandemic.
