Despite the ban on street begging  by Kano state government on 25thof February ,young children known as Almajirai still beg on the streets of   Kano.

Nigerian tracker  observed that children which the state government said had prevented from begging are carrying bowls on the streets of the state to beg.

Even today when Nigerian Tracker went to nooks and crannies of the state including hamlets minors beg for  food.

On February 25 when Kano state government announced the ban on street begging jubilation greeted the state .

But the council of  Ulama through its chairman  Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil while addressing newsmen said Kano state government is not serious because they were not consulted as stakeholders.

Street begging has become a norm among some people in Northwestern states of Nigeria where teenagers are sent by parents to far away towns other than their own in search of Quranic Knowledge .

But Nigerian Tracker had it from Islamic scholars that street begging by all age groups is an abomination in Islam as the religion does not condone begging.
