<p>In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Acting Secretary of the Council, Hauwa S. Zahradeen, the union highlighted the spiritual significance of Eid al-Adha and urged adherents of Islam to use the period for reflection and renewed commitment to the teachings of Islam.</p>
<p>The Acting Chairman of the Council, Comrade Mustafa Gambo Muhammad, described Eid al-Adha as a significant annual event that provides Muslims with an opportunity to deepen their faith, strengthen their relationship with Almighty Allah (SWT), and reaffirm their commitment to righteous living.</p>
<p>According to him, the festival serves as a reminder of the virtues of obedience, sacrifice, patience, and total submission to the will of Allah, values exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim and reinforced through the teachings and exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).</p>

<p>He called on the Muslim faithful to emulate the noble qualities and sterling character of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), stressing that adherence to these virtues would contribute to peaceful coexistence, social harmony, and the overall development of society.</p>

<p>Comrade Gambo also used the occasion to commend journalists across Kano State for their dedication to professionalism and ethical journalism. He praised members of the NUJ Kano State Council for their steadfast commitment to upholding the core principles of the profession through the dissemination of factual, balanced, and timely information.</p>
<p>He noted that despite the challenges facing the media industry, journalists in the state have continued to demonstrate resilience and responsibility in keeping the public informed while promoting accountability and good governance.</p>
<p>The NUJ chairman further expressed optimism about the future of Kano State, offering prayers for sustained peace, unity, and progress. He urged residents to use the festive period to strengthen bonds of brotherhood, mutual understanding, and tolerance in order to foster a more prosperous and harmonious society.</p>
<p>&#8220;As we celebrate this important religious occasion, we pray for enduring peace, unity, and mutual understanding among the people of Kano State. These values are essential for the continued growth and development of our state,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>The Council also extended special prayers to Nigerian pilgrims currently performing the 2025 Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, wishing them a spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage and praying for their safe return to the country upon completion of the exercise.</p>
<p>The NUJ Kano State Council reaffirmed its commitment to promoting responsible journalism and supporting initiatives that contribute to national development, while encouraging citizens to embrace the lessons of Eid al-Adha in their daily lives.</p>
