<p>The intervention, unveiled during an official launch ceremony, included the renovation, repainting, and furnishing of four classrooms with 108 single-seater desks, alongside other critical infrastructure upgrades.</p>
<p>Founder of the Foundation, Nuhu Abdullahi, described the project as a practical step toward strengthening educational development and securing a better future for children in Northern Nigeria. He emphasized that the Foundation is driven by the belief that every child deserves access to a safe and conducive learning environment.</p>

<p>He commended Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for declaring a state of emergency in education and implementing reforms focused on school rehabilitation, provision of instructional materials, and modernization of learning institutions. Abdullahi also lauded the recruitment of teachers under the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) programme, describing it as a critical step toward improving the quality of education in the state.</p>

<p>At the national level, the Foundation acknowledged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts in expanding access to higher education through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which seeks to ease financial barriers for students.</p>

<p>The Foundation noted that its intervention aligns with global development priorities, particularly the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).</p>

<p>Under Phase One of the intervention, the Foundation executed several key projects within the school, including:</p>
<p>Renovation and furnishing of four classrooms with modern desks</p>
<p>Equipping an Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) ward with learner-friendly round tables and chairs</p>
<p>Construction of separate toilet blocks for staff and students, supported by a sustainable water supply system</p>
<p>Provision of two fully furnished staff rooms to improve teachers’ working conditions</p>
<p>The Foundation stated that the project is designed to complement government efforts while promoting community participation in sustainable development.</p>
<p>“As children resume for the third term, these facilities should remind them that their future matters and that society is committed to their success,” the Foundation said in a statement.</p>

<p>The headmaster of Kawon Maigari Primary School expressed gratitude to the Foundation, noting that the renovation has transformed the three-block school into a more conducive learning environment.</p>
<p>Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), Dr. Nuhu Rabiu, described the development as unprecedented in the school’s history.</p>
<p>“Since the school was built in 1977, we have never witnessed a renovation of this magnitude, where classrooms are fully equipped,” he said. “We encourage the Foundation to continue this noble effort. The PTA will ensure that these facilities are properly maintained.”</p>
<p>Also speaking, the Education Secretary of Nassarawa Local Government, Zayyanu Alhasan, represented by Nasiru Ibrahim, praised the Foundation’s gesture and urged school authorities to work collaboratively to safeguard the new facilities.</p>
<p>“As education supervisors, we will ensure that these resources are protected and properly utilized,” he said.</p>
<p>Similarly, the Kano State Commissioner for Education, Gwani Ali Haruna Makoda, represented by Sagir Umar Danbare, Director of Schools at the Ministry of Education, commended the Foundation’s intervention, describing it as a meaningful contribution to addressing challenges in the sector.</p>
<p>“What Abdullahi has done is highly commendable. This is what we call giving back to society. We urge the school authorities to take proper care of these facilities and use them judiciously,” he said.</p>
