<p>The Emir of Rano, Alhaji Muhammadu Isah Umaru (Autan Bawo), on Friday turbaned three district heads to strengthen grassroots development across the emirate.</p>
<p>Speaking at the ceremony held at his palace in Rano, the Emir said the appointments were in recognition of the appointees’ contributions to the growth and development of the Rano Emirate.</p>

<p>The monarch charged the new district heads to deploy their wealth of experience to advance development, particularly in the areas of religion, the economy, health and education.</p>

<p>He also cautioned them against acts capable of undermining the norms, values and cultural heritage of the Rano Emirate.</p>

<p>“Conduct yourselves in line with our traditions and uphold the values that bind our people together,” the Emir said.</p>
<p>Those turbaned include Alhaji Bala Garba as Danmakwayon Rano, District Head of Rano; Muhammad Aminu Isah Umaru as Barde Kerarriya, District Head of Bunkure; and Abubakar Sunusi Ilah as Sarkin Shanun Rano, District Head of Kibiya.</p>
<p>The new Danmakwayon Rano, who is from the Yusufawa clan, is a graduate of Bayero University, Kano. He previously served at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment and as State Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Adamawa, Borno, Sokoto, Kebbi and Katsina states. He is also a member of several professional and union bodies.</p>
<p>In their separate remarks, the newly turbaned district heads expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and the Emir of Rano for the confidence reposed in them.</p>
<p>They pledged to justify the appointments by serving the people diligently and promoting peace and development within their respective districts.</p>
<p>The ceremony attracted traditional rulers, community leaders and well-wishers from across Kano State and beyond.</p>
