<p>The Kano State Ministry of Justice has reiterated that the Motorcycling and Related Matters (Regulations) Law 2013 (1434 A.H.) remains fully in effect and will continue to be strictly enforced to protect public safety, maintain order, and curb criminal activities within the State.</p>
<p>The Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kano State, Abdulkarim Kabiru Maude, SAN, has drawn the attention of the public, particularly commercial motorcyclists (Achaba) to the clear provisions of the Law, which prohibit carrying passengers on motorcycles within the following metropolitan Local Government Areas: Kano Municipal, Gwale, Dala, Nassarawa, Tarauni, Ungogo (Jido), Dawakin Kudu (Tamburawa, Gurjiya, and Jido Ward), Fagge, and Kumbotso.</p>
<p>The Law prescribes penalties for violators, including:<br />
• Up to six (6) months imprisonment<br />
• A fine of â¦10,000<br />
• Forfeiture of the motorcycle to the State</p>

<p>The Ministry further emphasizes that in Local Government Areas where commercial motorcycling is permitted, riders must register with the Ward Head, the Local Government Works Department, and the Divisional Police Officer of the area. This mandatory documentation enhances security, proper identification, and orderly conduct of motorcycle transport operations.</p>
<p>The Kano State Government calls on riders, passengers, community leaders, and transport unions to ensure full compliance. Security agencies have been directed to intensify surveillance and enforce the Law diligently, in the interest of public peace and crime prevention.</p>
