<p>Lieutenant General Waidi Shuaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, shared plan to recruit and train these soldiers as a way to strengthen the Army&#8217;s presence across the country.</p>
<p>During a visit to the 1 Division in Kaduna, he spoke with officers from various ranks, emphasizing the need for more troops to handle evolving security challenges.</p>
<p>He explained, “The area of responsibility is vast, and security challenges are dynamic. To meet these threats effectively, we need boots on the ground.”</p>

<p>The goal is to train 12,000 soldiers within six months at three new training centers. If everything goes as planned, they could produce up to 24,000 soldiers ready for action.</p>

<p>These training centers, recently approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will focus on equipping soldiers with skills in modern warfare, tactical strategies, and weapon handling.</p>
<p>General Shaibu highlighted that this initiative isn&#8217;t just about increasing numbers; it aims to improve the quality and efficiency of the Army as well. The new recruits will be trained in basic tactics, combat skills, and leadership to maintain high professional standards.</p>
