<p>Terrorists have launched an early-morning attack on the Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, in the Danko Wasagu Local Government Area (LGA) of Kebbi State, North West Nigeria, abducting scores of students, HumAngle reports.</p>
<p>The assault took place around 4:00 a.m., shortly before dawn prayers. Local sources say the attackers stormed the school premises, killing a staff member and injuring a security guard before escaping with several girls.</p>
<p>Residents of Maga, a community under the Danko Wasagu LGA, with its headquarters in Ribah, told HumAngle that the assailants “have not gone far” and are believed to still be within reach. They are calling for urgent intervention from both the Federal and Kebbi State Governments to prevent the terrorists from disappearing with the abducted students.</p>

<p>Security forces have yet to issue any official statement on the latest mass abduction of school children.</p>

<p>Recently, there have numerous cases of attacks and abduction by unknown gunmen in different parts of the country, Nigerian Tracker News gathered.</p>
<p>Some of these places are: the Kwara, Patigi community raid by terrorists that claimed lives of security operatives,the abduction of 64 and killing of 3 in Zamfara, the recent attack on those returning from market in Benue, the Mashegu local government area of Niger State attack which led to the killings of 16 vigilante members and abduction of 42, and many more.</p>
<p>This development has given rise to a sense of insecurity among Nigerians, and urgent intervention of the government is sought.</p>
