<p>An Oyo State High Court has directed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, to proceed with the party’s national convention scheduled for November 15 in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.</p>
<p>Justice A.L. Akintola issued the order on Monday while ruling on an ex parte application filed by Folahan Malomo Adelabi.</p>
<p>The court’s decision comes amid internal tensions within the PDP over the leadership structure and preparations for the forthcoming convention, which is expected to address key party positions and strategic plans ahead of the 2027 general elections.</p>

<p>In a judgment delivered on Friday, James Omotosho, presiding judge, held that by failing to conduct valid state congresses before moving to hold a national congress, the party breached provisions of the 1999 constitution, guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as well as its own constitution.</p>
<p>Consequently, the incumbent governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, decided to weigh into the matter as Wike and his cronies have decided to take politics too far by causing havoc in the party, unconfirmed reports have it.</p>
