On the 30th of October, 2025, several media houses made headlines that went viral on the social media space that the senator from Kogi Central, Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, has invited the senate president, Senator Godswill Akpabio, to her commissioning of projects slated to hold on Sunday, 2nd of November, 2025.

Contrary to the widely circulated headlines, the said senator Natasha explicitly disclosed on her social media handles that all of the 109 members of the red chamber have been invited to the ceremony as read by the senate president himself in the house:

“By God’s will I will mark my second year in office as the senator representing Kogi Central District. This past year was quite tumultuous,” the senator recounts.

“Illegally suspended, fraudulently sponsored recall, death threats and 2 Federal Government cases politically instigated against me, but to God be the glory, the Senate President himself Godswill Akpabio read my letter of invitation to all senators on the very chambers they swore I’d never return,” stated the senator.

Senator Natasha only submitted a formal letter inviting all the members of the senate house to the commissioning ceremony, not exclusively for the president of the house, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

Recall that the Senators–Godswill Akpabio and Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan–were involved in a fierce altercation in the past few months over an allegation made by the latter that the former had, severally, made sexual advances toward her in a bid to give her soft landing on any matter she proposes in the house.

The allegation which made its way to court rooms, unfortunately is still under litigation.
