<p>The Nigerian Medical Association Kano chapter has commended Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf for renovating over 200 Primary Healthcare Centres and upgrading some PHCs and cottage hospitals to general hospitals.</p>
<p>NMA Kano Chairman, Dr AbdulRahman Ali, gave the commendation in a statement issued on Tuesday in Kano on the 2025 Physicians Week.</p>
<p>Ali said the gesture would improve the health system and boost the welfare of healthcare workers statewide.</p>

<p>The chairman also urged the government to consider their training and retraining for better service delivery.</p>
<p>He appealed to governments and private health partners to work together towards achieving healthcare objectives.</p>
<p>Ali gave the assurance that NMA members would continue to support the state government policies that promote healthcare development.</p>
<p>This year’s Physicians Week, with the theme “Healthcare as a Value Chain: Building Efficiency from Policy to Patient,” highlighted the need for a coordinated health system.</p>
<p>Activities lined up for the week include lectures, hospital visits, and free medical outreach.</p>
