<p>In a major step towards the implementation of the Federal Government’s Dual Mandate Policy, the Federal College of Education (Technical), Bichi, on Monday, 20th October, 2025, played host to a ten-member Panel from the National Universities Commission (NUC).</p><div class="pFNjvPJI" style="clear:both;float:left;width:100%;margin:0 0 20px 0;"><script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>

<p>In his welcome address, the Provost of the College Dr. Bashir Sabo Abubakar<br />
expressed joy at the delegation’s safe arrival and applauded the Federal Government for signing in to law the dual mandate policy, describing it as a landmark reform in teacher education and improvement of access to Education in the Country.</p>
<p>He reaffirmed the College’s commitment to supporting the team in ensuring the success of the National assignment. The Provost also noted that FCE (T), Bichi has been offering 16 Degree Programs in affiliation with Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi and the University of Jos. The College has now presented the 16 Degree Programs with additional 7 making 23 for the Resource Verification Exercise.</p>

<p>The team, drawn from various universities across Nigeria, was led by Dr. Abubakar Muhammad Girei (Director Academic Programs) who represented the Executive Secretary, NUC stated that their mission was to assess the College’s human and material resources in readiness for the take-off of the dual mandate, where Colleges of Education can concurrently offer both NCE and Degree programs.</p>

<p>The visit ended with an exit briefing session, where Panelist presented their observations and recommendations. Furthermore, the team leader Dr. Girei commended the College management for its preparedness and expressed the Commission’s readiness to support the College in the implementation of the Policy.</p>
<p>In a statement by Fatima Hassan Ahmad Director Information and public relations said the Provost, in his closing remarks, pledged to ensure full compliance with the NUC’s standards.</p>
