<p>Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).</p>
<p>The governor&#8217;s defection came 24 hours after his Enugu State counterpart, Peter Mbah, dumped the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).</p>
<p>This is in affirmation of the speculations going round in the social media space that barring any last-minute change, Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas and other political bigwigs are set to become the latest Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after Enugu State governor, Peter Mbah on Tuesday made a similar switch.</p>

<p>Although, the governor’s spokesman, Daniel Alabrah, who announced this, did not give details on why the governor resigned from PDP; neither was it stated which party will be the governor&#8217;s new political platform.</p>

<p>Additionally, all the PDP members in the State House of Assembly, Commissioners in the State Executive Council have all resigned their membership of the party.</p>
<p>&#8220;I am not resigning alone. As you can see, I am here with the speaker, deputy speaker, and all the members of our party who are going to resign with me,&#8221; governor Diri confirmed during his briefing at the government house.</p>
