<p>The late Bilyaminu Bello Haliru was said to have been raised by Dr. Bello Haliru Mohammed who issued a press statement earlier today–expressing displeasure and resuscitation of old wounds by the president&#8217;s pardon on the convicted Maryam Sanda.</p>
<p>It was later in the day after the issuance of the press statement that the biological father, Alhaji Ahmad Bello Isa, in a joint interview session with the father of the culprit, Alhaji Graba Sanda, revealed that he was the one who appealed to the president for Maryam to be pardoned; citing reasons of which looking after the children that the both couple had together was among.</p>
<p>&#8220;There is nothing more painful than for someone to lose a son in the way I lost my son, Bilyaminu. However, what gives me some measure of comfort is that he left behind two beautiful children, my granddaughter, Sa’adatu Bilyaminu, and my grandson, Bilyaminu Bilyaminu, named after his father,&#8221; Isa stated.</p>

<p>He continued, “I have forgiven Maryam who was found guilty of killing my son. Before the end of the trial, I made every effort to let both the Police and the Court know that I did not want her prosecuted, because I did not want a situation where my grandchildren, who had lost their father so tragically, would also lose their mother.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;I have taken it as the will of Almighty Allah, what happened to my son, and I do not blame Maryam for it. However, now that she has been sentenced to death, I beg in the name of Almighty Allah for mercy. If she is killed, who will take care of her two children? They will grow up as orphans, without a father or a mother’s love,” he added.</p>
<p>When Asked about the statement by the family who expressed concerns over the Presidential pardon, he said “Anyone has the freedom in his family to express himself but as the biological father, he has forgiven her.&#8221;</p>
<p>Nigerian Tracker had earlier reported the press statement of the foster father, Dr. Bello Haliru Mohammed, where he expressed dissatisfaction with the presidential pardon on the convicted Maryam.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s worth noting that the said biological father had, since Bilyaminu&#8217;s childhood, disappeared from the deceased life, thereby not playing his fatherly role. Report from the family has it that the last time the maternal family of Bilyaminu had contact with the estranged biological father was when he came to pay condolences for the demise of Bilyaminu&#8217;s mother who died after giving birth to Bilyaminu in 1981.</p>
<p>Dr. Bello Haliru Mohammed who was the former Communication Minister and also the former National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) then took over bringing Bilyaminu up which was how Bilyaminu met Maryam who is from high-flying family in Abuja.</p>
