<p>The leadership of Birnin-Kudu Old Boys Association (BIKOBA) has joined the people and the Government of Jigawa State especially members of the State Judiciary in mourning the death of the former Kadi of the State Sharia Court of Appeal, Kadi Bashir-Birnin-Kudu.</p>
<p>The pioneer Provost of the Jigawa State School of Islamic and Legal Studies, Ringim, passed away last Friday, 10th October 2025, after a protracted illness while receiving treatment at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano.</p>
<p>President of BIKOBA, Alhaji Ja’afar Usman Muhammad (Turakin Gaya), said that during his lifetime, the late Kadi Bashir Birnin-Kudu remarkably contributed to the development of both Islamic legal education and the legal system in Kano and Jigawa States.</p><div class="G8zYUqLI" style="clear:both;float:left;width:100%;margin:0 0 20px 0;"><script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>

<p>He noted that, as the pioneer head of the Jigawa State School of Islamic and Legal Studies, Kadi Bashir played a very significant role in providing guidance and a foundational training ground to numerous legal professionals and practitioners in the state and beyond, while his contributions to the promotion and effective dispensation of justice especially in the Shari’a Courts of Appeal across Jigawa were unquantifiable.</p>

<p>Additionally, the lifetime of the late Kadi Bashir was full of efforts to foster unity and cohesion among the Muslim Ummah through his public engagements, sermons, and preaching while serving as Chief Imam of Dutse Central Mosque as well as Chairman of the Jigawa State Council of Ulama, said the BIKOBA President.</p>

<p>In a statement by BIKOBA National Publicity Secretary, Mahmud Ibrahim Kwari, Alhaji Ja’afar Usman Muhammad (Turakin Gaya) prayed to Allah to grant him Jannatul-Firdausi and to give his immediate family, as well as the senior brother of the deceased (Malam Sale Ahmed Birnin-Kudu), comfort over the irreparable loss.</p>
