<p>According to a statement issued to newsmen by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf&#8217;s Special Adviser on Information, Ibrahim Adam, the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, immediately after being sworn in, swung into action and doubled the state&#8217;s revenue generation by overhauling the Kano State Internal Revenue Service (KIRS).</p>
<p>The Governor&#8217;s Information Manager also said it is pertinent that Governor Yusuf employed one of the best hands to handle the state&#8217;s revenue generation, hence the result of Kano topping the chart in 2024.</p>
<p>The data released for the leading movers among the states by the National Bureau of Statistics for 2024 are as follows:</p>

<p>Governor Yusuf&#8217;s Information Manager added that the revenue generation doubled by 100 percent when the government assumed office after 2023.</p>
<p>According to Ibrahim, the government is not even keen on taxing the masses, like the Adaidaita Sahu tricycle riders, who<br />
were exploited by the previous administration of Governor Ganduje.</p>
<p>“People are asking where the government is getting the funds for infrastructural projects—this is the only way.</p>
<p>“Among the strategies employed by the administration to improve the state&#8217;s IGR is blocking leakages and loopholes.</p>
<p>“And as a result, the total revenue generated in 2024 has doubled that of 2023.”</p>
<p>Ibrahim Adam added that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is assuring the people of the state that he is very grateful for the cooperation the administration is receiving from the populace, with the promise of doing more.</p>
<p>Consequently, Ibrahim added that the state government will continue to implement more infrastructural projects using the internally generated revenue.</p>
