A youth activist of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano, Hon. Sadiq Ali Sango, has strongly criticized former APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for convening a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja instead of addressing what he described as pressing internal challenges facing the party in Kano.

Speaking at a press conference in Kano on Friday, Sango said the decision to hold the meeting in Abuja showed a disconnect between the party leadership and its grassroots members.

“Is Abuja now Kano? Are our problems in Abuja or right here in Kano?” he asked.

Sango accused Ganduje and his loyalists of neglecting the real issues confronting the party in Kano, particularly in Kano Central, where he claimed grassroots members feel “neglected, abandoned, and left to suffer.”

According to him, rather than reconciling aggrieved members and strengthening party structures in the state, party leaders are “busy roaming in Abuja and praising themselves.”

He also faulted Ganduje’s remarks at the Abuja meeting, alleging that the former chairman misled President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the true state of affairs in Kano.

“Instead of telling President Tinubu the truth about what Kano needs, Ganduje stood there and deceived Mr. President. Kano has been shortchanged, and for Ganduje to lie about it is an insult to our people.”

The activist warned that continued neglect of the grassroots could endanger the APC’s chances in the 2027 elections.

He demanded that Ganduje and his allies apologize to APC members in Kano and called for a proper stakeholders’ meeting to be held in the state with grassroots representatives included.

Sango further stressed the importance of giving party youths a stronger voice, insisting that they are the “real supporters keeping the party alive.”

Despite his criticism, the APC youth activist reaffirmed his loyalty to President Tinubu, pledging support for the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“APC belongs to the people, not to a few individuals. Enough of the lies, enough of the betrayal. It is time to return to the grassroots and rebuild this party so that we can deliver victory in 2027,” he declared.
