<p dir="ltr">CP Azare reported that on July 31, 2025, operatives acting on credible intelligence raided a hotel in Ikot-Udota, Eket Local Government Area, arresting two suspected cultists and recovering a range of firearms and contraband. “Suspects, Uwemedimo Michael Udah and Prince Emmanuel Amasi-Tito, were apprehended with an English Beretta pistol loaded with live ammunition, electronic devices, and suspected stolen documents,” he explained. Preliminary investigations revealed that the gang was led by individuals still at large, and efforts to apprehend them continue.</p>

<p dir="ltr">Notably, the police neutralized a feared kidnapper in Mkpat Enin LGA following intelligence on a gang’s attempted operations in Ikot Umiang village. CP Azare disclosed that “in a shootout on August 2, operatives neutralized John Ubong Akpan after the gang opened fire on the police team. No officers were injured during the clash.” He further informed that the deceased suspect’s hideout yielded a locally made pistol and live cartridges.</p>

<p dir="ltr">CP Baba Muhammad said the arrest of a group involved in armed robbery and sexual assault. “Following a distress report from a victim in Abak, our detectives conducted a raid on July 30, 2025, arresting five suspects connected to a heinous attack involving robbery and rape,” CP Azare stated. During the operation, officers recovered disturbing ritualistic items from a shrine used by the criminals.</p>
