<p>Prior to this new role, Dr. Saifullahi served as the Technical Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture. He is a distinguished expert in applied economics with over 15 years of experience in teaching, research, and administration, specializing in agricultural economics. His work encompasses a focus on livelihood and natural resource economics, agricultural value chains, and data management.</p>
<p>Dr. Saifullahi has committed a substantial part of his career to academia, holding the position of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Management at Binyaminu Usman Polytechnic, Hadejia. There, he has played a pivotal role in shaping and mentoring the next generation of agricultural practitioners.</p>

<p>He earned his Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the prestigious Bayero University, Kano. His significant contributions to the field are reflected in his authorship of over 30 journal articles and conference publications, as well as his book titled &#8220;Farm Planning: Principles and Application.&#8221;</p>

His portfolio includes key roles with the African Development Bank, GIZ, and World Bank-supported projects, as well as engagement with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture. His leadership skills have also been demonstrated through impactful administrative roles, including his position as Technical Adviser on Agriculture to the Jigawa State Governor, where he has led agricultural sector coordination and spearheaded essential reforms within the Jigawa agricultural sector.</p>
<p>Dr. Umar is recognized for his expertise in value chain analysis across a wide range of agricultural products, consistently delivering comprehensive and effective outcomes that have enhanced agricultural value chains and improved livelihoods. His extensive knowledge, diverse experience, and robust skill set make him a vital asset to advancing the goals of the Jigawa State Agricultural Transformation Agency.</p>
