The Coalition of APC Progressive Youths Group has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately remove federal appointees from Kano State who, they say, have failed to contribute to the development of the party, the welfare of Nigerians, or the progress of the President’s administration.

Speaking in Kano during a meeting with party members, the Chairman of the group, Hon. Sadiq Ali Sango, accused figures such as former Deputy Governor Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, Minister of State for the FCT Mariya Mahmud Bunkure, and others of neglecting both the party and the people.

Other non-performing appointees, according to him, are Umar Abdullahi Ganduje (Abba), who is currently the Executive Director, Technical, of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), the son of the immediate past National Chairman of APC and Dr Danlami Hayyo, Chairman Universal Basic Education Board, FCT Abuja.

So also Engineer Rabi’u Sulaiman Bichi, Managing Director /CEO Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, among others.

Adding that, “His Excellency Mr President knows who among all the appointees is doing the needful. But I am sure he is also aware that more than 80 percent of them from Kano are not doing anything for the development of party members and survival of the party, as general election is fast approaching.”

“In the past two years, what have they done in terms of projects and empowerment? We have not seen anything coming from Gawuna’s office or from the State Minister of the FCT,” he challenged.

“Most of them are not doing anything at the state or national level. They are only enriching themselves while Nigerians and APC members are suffering and neglected,” he further maintained.

He alleged that many of these non-performing appointees were nominated by former Kano governor and ex-APC National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, whose political influence, according to him, has been damaging to the party.

He further lamented that, “Ganduje has caused serious damage to the APC since his time as governor and during his tenure as national chairman. These appointees are only loyal to him, and now that he holds no position, they should go. If they remain, they will continue to sabotage the APC,”

Sango further accused the appointees of undermining President Tinubu’s administration by failing to promote and amplify the government’s achievements.

Alleging that, “They are the ones causing trouble for Tinubu’s government because they are not doing anything and they are not telling people what the President is achieving.”

The Coalition reaffirmed its loyalty to President Tinubu and the APC, commending the President for his “Giant strides, especially in the North.”

“We believe in President Tinubu’s vision, and we will continue to support him in delivering the Renewed Hope agenda to Nigerians,” he concluded.
