<p>It is high time for Government and Good people of Kano state to decisively and as a matter of urgency to take a drastic action toward thugs, phone snatching and other criminal acts which are becoming rampant and worrisome especially within the Metropolis.</p>
<p>The killings of innocents’ people by hoodlums popularly known as &#8216;YAN DABA is increasing day by day and the tension is at its alarming rate. I have seen the pictures of the victims of this dangerous act in Tens of number.</p><div class="TZX1QT3d" style="clear:both;float:left;width:100%;margin:0 0 20px 0;"><script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>

<p>Cases of Phone snatching /confiscation, hooliganism and violence raging many areas within the ancient city of Kano are taking serious and negative direction. Kano is believed to be a renowned city during the famous trans-Saharan trade, for long the City is acclaimed to be a prominent Commercial and business hub not only in Africa but in the world generally.</p>

<p>It is pertinent to note that as long as drastic measures to curtail these dangerous acts are not taken Wallahi this will affect the long existing Glory and recognition of Kano and this will surely creep down the economic activities in the state as the good image of the state is dented by few bad eggs within the community. It is obvious that fear of the unknown and bad anticipation will surely halt the commercial activities while business partners and investors trooping the State are left with no option but to back out, renege and give up which eventually jeopardized the development of Kano.</p>
<p>The task to contain these dangerous acts could be very easy as long as there is political will and sincerity of action from Government and Good people of Kano State respectively. I could remember during Military regime the approach used to ban black market petroleum sellers. Military Government then was against Black Market Fuel vendors. At that time Security operatives where assigned to proscribe the business completely. The consistent patrol carried out by police and military then was successful in wiping out the business that considered illegal by Military Government. The scenario is still fresh in my memory, we have seen how serious and committed the then Government was couple with the rigorous and intense military operations within the nooks and crannies of Kano City particularly with the arrival of &#8216;Operation Fire For Fire&#8217; a joint Task Force comprising Police and Army officers, the Black Market business was neutralized in no time.</p>
<p>I advice Kano State Government to declare state of emergency through collaborating with civil societies, NGOs, Community Associations, Students&#8217; Union, Vigilant Groups for peace to reign in our dear State.</p>
