Col. Daudu, as he was widely known, was a prominent figure in Nigeria’s military and political history. Born into a lineage of prestige and tradition, he was the grandson of the late Galadiman Kano, Abdulkadir Abbas, and an in-law to the revered Kano prince, Alhaji Tijjani Hashim, also a Galadiman Kano. His life bridged the worlds of military service, aristocratic heritage, and national politics.

Col. Daudu was part of a legendary cohort at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), training alongside some of Nigeria’s most influential military leaders. His contemporaries included former Head of State General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), Colonel Sani Bello, Major General Jega now the Emir of Gwandu and the late General Mamman Vatsa. His military career was marked by discipline, loyalty, and a commitment to national service.
