In a letter dated August 1, 2025, and addressed through the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, the Forum expressed both appreciation for the governor’s commitment to justice under the Kwankwasiyya vision and alarm over Yahya’s alleged ties to the leadership of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). The letter was signed by Dr. Jafaru Sadiq, representing the executives and entire membership of the Forum.

“We write this letter… to express both gratitude and concern gratitude for your continued commitment to the ideals of justice and development under the Kwankwasiyya vision, and concern over the proposed appointment of Saidu Yahya,” the Forum stated.

The Forum commended Hon. Anas Abba Dala and other Kano citizens for their vocal opposition to the acting appointment of Barrister Zahradden Kofar Mata, praising their stance as a reflection of moral clarity and public interest. According to the Forum, such resistance is essential to safeguarding the integrity of the current administration.

The Forum alleged that Yahya’s accountability to the current ICPC Chairman described as a loyalist of former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje poses a threat to the administration’s credibility. It claimed that the ICPC leadership had previously attempted to interfere with local government contracts in Kano, actions perceived as politically motivated and aimed at undermining Governor Yusuf’s developmental agenda.

“The said ICPC leadership previously attempted to interfere with lawful and transparent local government contracts in Kano,” the Forum warned, suggesting that Yahya’s appointment could compromise sensitive government operations.

The letter further argued that Yahya’s nomination could be interpreted as a concession to external political forces, particularly the All Progressives Congress (APC) network allegedly linked to the ICPC leadership. The Forum cautioned that such a move might jeopardize the strategic stability of the Kwankwasiyya-led government.

“Some now view this nomination not as a matter of merit or necessity, but as a quiet concession or appeasement to external political forces,” the Forum asserted.

Calling for collective action, the Forum urged members of the Kano State House of Assembly and local government chairmen to oppose the appointment. It emphasized that the appeal was not an attack but a sincere effort to protect the administration from potential betrayal and preserve public trust.

“Let no one misjudge our intention. This letter is not an attack, but a caution,” the Forum clarified, reaffirming its loyalty to Governor Yusuf and the principles that brought him to office.

The letter concluded with a prayer for divine guidance and protection over the governor’s leadership, reinforcing the Forum’s commitment to religious accountability and humane governance.

“May Almighty Allah guide your leadership with wisdom and shield it from betrayal,” the letter concluded.
