<p>In the ever-evolving political landscape of Nigeria, appointments into key national positions must not only reflect competence and capacity, but also reward loyalty, recognize service to humanity, and strengthen the foundation of national unity.</p>
<p>The vacant position of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation presents yet another opportunity for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to cement his administration’s legacy of inclusivity and purposeful governance. It is against this backdrop that the call for the appointment of Hon. Nasiru Bala Aminu (popularly known as Ja’oji) as the next Minister in this pivotal ministry deserves serious national attention.</p>
<p>At an emergency meeting held by youth groups from the North West, with representatives converging in Kano on July 24, 2025, a collective and unified voice was raised in support of Ja’oji. Their message was clear: there is no better candidate, both in principle and practice, to carry forward the vision of the Humanitarian Affairs Ministry than Hon. <p>Ja’oji is not a newcomer to national service or youth development. His contributions have been widely acknowledged, not just in Kano State but across the entire North. From initiating scholarship schemes for underprivileged students within and beyond Nigeria’s borders to empowering youths and women through sustainable development programmes, his efforts embody the ideals that the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation is built upon.</p>

<p>As a serving member of the Governing Council of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Potiskum, Yobe State, Ja’oji has demonstrated that governance is not about position but purpose. He has used his influence and network to touch lives and inspire hope where it is most needed. His commitment to humanitarian causes predates any political appointment and is rooted in a deep, personal sense of duty.</p>
<p>What makes Ja’oji’s case even more compelling is his standing in the political ecosystem. He is a household name across the Northern political landscape, particularly within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). His support base is not only vast but loyal a critical asset in sustaining party relevance, especially at the grassroots level.</p>
<p>Kano, the political heartbeat of the North West and a major contributor to President Tinubu’s electoral victory in 2023, remains underrepresented in strategic ministerial roles. Appointing Ja’oji would not only be a political reward for Kano’s unwavering support but a practical step toward ensuring that those who truly understand the grassroots are part of policy execution at the national level.</p>
<p>The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation is central to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda. It is the bridge between government and the most vulnerable Nigerians. It needs a leader who is connected to the people, understands the real issues on the ground, and can navigate the complex dynamics of humanitarian response, social investment, and poverty reduction.</p>
<p>Ja’oji checks all these boxes and more. He brings political will, policy insight, and personal compassion. He is a loyal APC member, a passionate community leader, and a bridge-builder who believes in national unity through purposeful development.</p>
<p>Mr. President, this is a defining moment. The North West has shown its loyalty. Kano has stood with you when it mattered most. It is time to reciprocate by appointing one of its finest sons, a man whose works speak louder than any lobby, whose commitment to your administration is unwavering, and whose heart beats for the people.</p>
<p>We urge you to make this bold, thoughtful, and strategic decision. It is not just about filling a vacancy. It is about choosing a leader who will lead with empathy, effectiveness, and excellence.</p>
