However, on the other hand, the representative of the Fulani herders, Sabo Ali, accused the farmers of blocking grazing routes, leaving no space for their cattle to graze or pass through.

He appealed to the local government to establish boundaries within the grazing paths to allow safe herding, especially on the major hills where their animals usually graze.

Speaking at the session, the Chairperson of the Reconciliation Committee, Zubainatu Abdulrahman, commended the Chairman of Takai Local Government, Muntari Ibrahim Faruruwa, for the proactive steps he has taken to resolve the conflict.

She stated that the committee would revisit the area to monitor the progress and implementation of the peace agreements reached.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Takai Local Government, Muntari Ibrahim Faruruwa, said the conflict predated his assumption of office.

He noted that there are five major hills at the center of the dispute between the Fulani herders and Hausa farmers, and that the local government has already taken steps toward resolving the issue.

He said he personally visited the disputed areas and that efforts are underway to bring the matter to a peaceful end.

Muntari Ibrahim called for cooperation between the Hausa farmers and Fulani herders to avoid any acts that could lead to violence.

Afterward, the L-PRES committee proceeded to Sumaila Local Government, where it visited Fajewa town and inspected grazing areas and paths allegedly encroached on by farmers.

The L-PRES committee, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, pledged to continue monitoring and mediating conflicts between farmers and herders.

Additionally, the committee is made up of security personnel, government representatives, Fulani representatives (including Fuldan and Miyetti Allah groups), Hausa farmer representatives, and journalists.
