The Kano State Ministry for Public Procurement, Project Monitoring and Evaluation (MPPPM\&;E) has issued a strong warning to the general public, particularly contractors, over a fraudulent scheme involving impersonation and solicitation of money under false pretenses.

This alert was issued following reports that an individual, falsely identifying herself as Hajiya Hadiza Ibrahim, has been contacting contractors using the phone numbers +2349013782697 and +2349036876486, claiming to be a staff member of the Ministry. According to the Ministry, the impersonator is requesting payments for the so-called “renewal of due process licenses” in connection with an alleged “Emergency Award of Contract.”

In a statement released by the Ministry’s Information Officer, Sagiru Ado Abubakar, it was revealed that the impersonator also instructs victims to make payments into bank accounts such as that of Aliyu Yahaya, FCMB account number 6092046011.

The Ministry categorically disclaimed any connection with these fraudulent calls and warned that no individual has been authorized to make such demands on its behalf. It further clarified that all legitimate payments related to contractor registration or license renewals are made only through the official state government tax portal:
