<p>Renowned journalist and former BBC correspondent, Bilkisu Babangida, has passed away at the age of 56. <p>Bilkisu Babangida began her illustrious career in journalism with the BBC in 2006, where she served as the Borno and Yobe correspondent. Her entrance into the media spotlight coincided with the escalation of insurgent attacks in the region, particularly by the dreaded Boko Haram sect. Her brave reporting from the epicentre of the crisis earned her both national and international recognition.</p>
<p>Throughout her career, Babangida was known for her deep passion for journalism, her commitment to telling the stories of the marginalized, and her ability to report under extremely dangerous and challenging circumstances. Her work provided critical insights into the lives of communities ravaged by violence, displacement, and fear.</p>

<p>Her passing has triggered an outpouring of condolences from across the country.
