<p>Athletes, sports officials, medical personnel, administrators, and a journalist died in the fatal crash, which occurred in Dakatsalle town in Kura Local Government Area about 50 kilometres from Kano.</p>

<p>I am deeply saddened by the news of the tragic death of 22 young athletes and officials from Kano State, who were involved in a road accident at Dakatsalle town, while returning from the just concluded National Sports Festival (NSF), held in Abeokuta Ogun.</p>
