<p>As part of its oversight function, the House of Representatives Committee on Privatisation and Commercialisation, led by its Chairman, Rt. Hon. Engr. <p>The purpose of the visit was to assess the progress and impact of private sector-led power infrastructure development in the context of Nigeria’s post-privatization power sector reform. The Committee toured Bagaja’s state-of-the-art facility—designed to enhance distribution efficiency, grid stability, and energy access to underserved areas.</p>
<p>Chairman Chidari praised Bagaja’s efforts, describing the project as a “strategic and innovative approach to power generation and supply.”</p>
<p>“This project clearly illustrates the potential of public-private partnerships in addressing Nigeria’s longstanding electricity challenges,” he noted. “We are highly impressed with the level of professionalism, innovation, and commitment displayed by Bagaja.”</p>

<p>He also emphasized the need for increased stakeholder support for renewable energy initiatives, citing their crucial role in decentralizing energy supply and reducing overreliance on the national grid.</p>

<p>Mr. Sadiq Zakari, Managing Director of Bagaja Renewables, led the Committee through the facility and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering clean, consistent, and scalable energy solutions across the country.</p>
<p>“At Bagaja, our mission is to close the energy access gap through reliable and sustainable infrastructure,” Mr. Zakari stated. “The Zawaciki mini-grid is a demonstration of our vision for transforming Nigeria’s energy landscape.”</p>
<p>He further highlighted Bagaja’s expanding portfolio, including ongoing developments at Kura-Karfi in Kano, aimed at powering local businesses and driving economic growth, as well as the Kafin Hausa project in Jigawa, which has already completed its fencing phase and is progressing steadily toward full deployment.</p>
<p>The visit reinforces the value of cooperation between government institutions and private energy providers in advancing Nigeria’s energy security and sustainability goals.</p>
