<p>Ummi, a 31-year-old Kano indigene, has been battling proximal myopathy—a progressive and debilitating muscle-wasting condition—for over 18 years. Despite the condition gradually eroding her physical strength and mobility, Ummi defied the odds to earn a law degree. However, her deteriorating health prevented her from continuing to Law School.</p>
<p>In a courageous plea for assistance, Ummi reached out directly to Governor Yusuf via text message. Moved by her story, the Governor acted immediately, commissioning a discreet verification of her condition. Upon confirmation, he pledged to fully sponsor her medical needs, including mobility aids, therapy equipment, and comprehensive healthcare support—an intervention estimated in millions of naira.</p>

<p>Governor Yusuf further demonstrated his commitment to her wellbeing by inviting Ummi to the Government House for a personal meeting.
