Six suspects appeared in the Kaduna Chief Magistrate Court, Kabala Doki, on Thursday, charged with the murder of Ahmed Musa, an SS2 student who was brutally killed.
The incident took place on 16th February 2025, at Government Technical College Malali, Kaduna North, Kaduna State.
Justice Naheed Ibrahim Abdulhamid ordered that the principal defendants, Wisdom Markus Kefas, an 18-year-old SS2 student, and Innocent Yakubu, a 17-year-old SS2 student, both from Government Technical College Malali, be remanded in a correctional facility and police custody, respectively. The case has been adjourned until the 8th of April 2025.
Wisdom Markus Kefas and Innocent Yakubu are the prime suspects accused of conspiring and causing the death of Ahmed Musa on the 16th of February 2025.
Additionally, Timothy Abba, 56 years old, Joseph Ogoni, 41 years old, Bulus Adamu, 42 years old, and Francis Adamu, 48 years old, all personnel of the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVIS), posted to the said school to provide security, were arrested in connection with the case. They were charged with criminal conspiracy and negligence, which led to the death of Ahmed Musa at Government Technical College Malali, Kaduna.
The KADVIS personnel were granted bail, and their case was adjourned until the 17th of March 2025.
After the court session, the father of the deceased, Comrade Musa Mohammed (Moonlight), in an interview with newsmen, demanded adequate compensation from the Kaduna State Government for negligence, being the custodian of his deceased son, Ahmed Musa.
He said, “We, the family of Late Ahmed Musa, demand that the Kaduna State Government pay Five Hundred and Sixty Million, Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N560,300,000) as compensation.”
On 16th February 2025, the deceased Ahmed Musa was found lying at the school premises with his hands and legs tied with a rope to his neck through the back, with traces of blood on his mouth and nose. He was rushed to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, Kaduna, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
