The Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists expressed its heartfelt condolences to the immediate family, staff of Rahma Radio, and the entire members of the pen profession over the demise of Abubakar Dahiru Yakasai of Rahma Radio.
In a statement jointly signed by the Council’s Chairman Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi and Secretary Abubakar Shehu Kwaru, they described the death of Yakasai as a great loss to the media community in Kano and beyond.
The statement recalled that the late Abubakar Yakasai, who was the pioneer court and crime reporter of Rahma Radio, was humble, dedicated, and reliable, contributing significantly to the development of journalism during his lifetime and calling on others to emulate him.
It added that his death left a vacuum difficult to fill.
The Council, therefore, prayed to God Almighty to make Jannatul Firdaus the final abode for the deceased and grant his family and colleagues the fortitude to bear the loss with courage.
