The Association of Online Media Guild (ASSOMEG), comprising seasoned journalists and publishers committed to upholding the highest standards of online journalism, proudly congratulates Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya on his recent appointment as the Commissioner for Information in Kano State.

According to Abdullateef Abubakar Jos and Abbas Yushau Yusuf, Chairman and Interim Secretary of ASSOMEG, Comrade Waiya’s appointment by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf underscores his unwavering commitment to democracy, good governance, and the empowerment of civil society. “As the Executive Director of Citizens for Development and Education (CDE) and a founding leader of the Kano Civil Society Forum (KCSF), he has been a driving force in advocating for democratic principles, anti-corruption initiatives, peacebuilding, and the empowerment of women across Northern Nigeria,” Yusuf stated.

Abdullateef Abubakar Jos, Interim Chairman of ASSOMEG, highlighted Comrade Waiya’s exemplary academic background and leadership through his impactful roles. “ASSOMEG firmly believes that Comrade Waiya’s vast experience and steadfast dedication to public service will play a pivotal role in enhancing the dissemination of accurate and timely information in Kano State,” Jos remarked.
