The Chairman of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC), Professor Sani Lawal Malumfashi, has urged the Kano State Government, led by Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, to boost the services of the Cooperative Security Directorate.

Prof. Malumfashi made the appeal during a courtesy visit led by the Director General of the State Security Cooperative, Commissioner of Police (Rtd) Alhaji Kabiru Gwarzo.

Malumfashi praised the Security Cooperative personnel for their vital role in ensuring the peaceful and successful 2024 local government election in the state.

He acknowledged the foresight of former Governor Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in establishing the agency, whose benefits are now evident to the entire citizens of Kano.

The KANSIEC Chairman commended Governor Yusuf’s choice of Commissioner Gwarzo to head the state’s security agency, expressing confidence in his ability to handle the tasks.

Malumfashi also appreciated the visit, noting it was the first of its kind from government and non-government organizations since the completion of the election assignment.

Earlier, Director General Gwarzo described the 2024 local government election as one of the best in recent times across the country.

He attributed this success to the strict adherence to election processes, unlike many other states.

In a statement signed by Bashir Habib Yahya, Director of Public Enlightenment, Gwarzo praised Malumfashi’s competence, saying he was the “right person in the right position.”
