Kano State Commissioner for Works, Engineer Marwan Ahmad, has praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for receiving the Golden Award from the Nigeria Union of Teachers during the 2024 World Teachers’ Day celebration held in Abuja.

Engineer Marwan Ahmad made this statement in an interview with Abba Hamisu of Time Base Television.

The commissioner said the award is a testament to Governor Yusuf’s untiring efforts in improving infrastructure in Kano’s primary schools, which had been in a state of dilapidation for the past eight years.

He added that the governor has renovated hundreds of schools in the state and provided infrastructure like desks and instructional materials.

The commissioner also noted that, in addition to primary schools, the governor is working tirelessly to ensure the renovation of all schools in the state, including secondary and post-secondary institutions.

He said the Golden Award given to Governor Yusuf by the NUT is a significant acknowledgment of the governor’s strides in infrastructure development across the state.
