The APC Arewa Merger Group has expressed satisfaction over the action taken by the Federal Ministry of Works in terminating the contract for the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano road with Julius Berger Construction Company.
This was contained in a statement signed by the coordinator of the group, Hon. Musa Mujahid Zaitawa, and made available to journalists.
They commended the Minister of Works, Senator Nweze David Umahi, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Yakubu Adam Kofar Mata, for responding to the group’s complaint regarding delays by the company in completing the road project, urging the ministry to take action.
The coordinator stated that the termination of the contract with Julius Berger will put an end to the constant cost increases and project delays.
The APC Arewa Merger Group hopes the federal government will find a credible construction company to take over the project and complete the road from Abuja to Kano in a timely manner, given its importance for transportation, security, and business development.
Zaitawa emphasized that this action reflects the commitment of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration to its development policies for the North and assured that Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda will protect the North’s interests by completing inherited projects, including the major roads linking the North to the South.
