Some Northern Nigerian activists, including lawyers and journalists, have contributed 1.8 million Naira to honor the gallant Nigerian soldiers who killed the notorious bandit Halilu Sububu in one of the Zamfara forests.
A London-based Nigerian lawyer, Dr. Abdul Bulama Bukarti, stated this on his verified Facebook page while reacting to the elimination of Halilu Sububu, a notorious bandit who terrorized the Northwestern part of Nigeria.
Audu Bukarti mentioned that he, along with Jaafar Jaafar, the publisher of the popular online newspaper Daily Nigerian, human rights lawyer Barrister Abba Hikima, and broadcast journalist Nasiru Salisu Zango, contributed 1.8 million Naira for the soldiers who eliminated Halilu Sububu.
He explained that, considering the number of soldiers involved, the one million Naira given to them by General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, is insufficient, as each soldier would receive only 38,000 Naira.
Audu Bulama Bukarti further called on Nigerians to raise an appeal fund for the soldiers to boost their morale, acknowledging the sacrifices they make for the well-being of the nation.
For more details on how the donation will be managed, Barrister Bukarti stated that Jaafar Jaafar, the publisher of Daily Nigerian, should be contacted.
